About AbleRoutes

Verified data and real audits, not personal narrative.

AbleRoutes exists to answer one question honestly: what is travel actually going to be like for me? Not a marketing description, not a generic accessibility badge, the actual, specific, verified truth about a place, whenever we’re able to find it.

We’re Josh and Kalie, and we do the research and verification ourselves, or we say plainly when we haven’t gotten to it yet. That’s the whole model. A property earns a “confirmed” badge on this site because we found real information from a legitimate source, not because it seemed like a safe assumption.

Josh experienced real difficulty getting around after a knee surgery, and that’s what got us paying attention to how much harder travel becomes when your body doesn’t cooperate the way it used to, or never did. We don’t claim to speak from every kind of accessibility experience covered on this site, mobility, hearing, vision, neurodivergence, food restrictions, chronic illness, service animals. Where we don’t have that lived experience ourselves, this site relies on real travelers, advocates, and specialists, credited by name, not guessed at.

We research each property directly, not from someone else’s claim.

Verified details get a date and a source. Nothing else is guessed.

Unconfirmed stays visibly unconfirmed, not hidden or assumed.

Bookings are handled personally, through direct relationships with accessibility-vetted hotels, destination management companies, and cruise lines, not a call center, not a form into the void. Josh is a travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, and that affiliation is exactly that, an affiliation, not a redirect. When you work with AbleRoutes, you’re working with us.
